The Macon Water Authority (MWA) is making a major investment in the community’s water infrastructure with a $9.2 million upgrade to the Rocky Creek Water Reclamation Facility. This project, approved at the February 6th board meeting, will enhance water treatment efficiency, system reliability, and long-term sustainability.
What’s Included in the Upgrade?
The improvements at Rocky Creek will focus on:
✅ Electrical System Enhancements – Modernizing outdated electrical components to improve efficiency.
✅ SCADA System Implementation – Installing a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system to allow for remote monitoring and real-time adjustments.
✅ Pump Station Upgrades – Improving the Return Activated Sludge (RAS) pump stations, which play a critical role in water treatment.
✅ Process System Overhaul – Upgrading key treatment processes to increase capacity and efficiency.
